San Diego Police use the Drager Drug Test 5000 to Assist in Making DUI Marijuana Arrests

Last month the first arrests were reported in San Diego for driving under the influence of marijuana using the new Drager Drug Test 5000. The device acts much like a Breathalyzer except it requires police to swab the inside of a driver’s mouth and test the results onsite for active THC. Once a positive result is returned, the police can obtain a warrant for a blood drawing to determine the actual blood level of THC. Missouri Hospitals to Pay $34 Million in Whistleblower Suit

Two southwest Missouri hospitals have agreed to pay $34 million to the Medicare program for alleged violations of the False Claims Act. The suit, filed by a whistleblower, claims the hospitals engaged in improper financial relationships with referring physicians. The whistleblower lawsuit was filed Dr. Viran Roger Holder against Mercy Hospital Springfield and its affiliate Mercy Clinic Springfield Communities, which together operate a hospital, clinic and infusion center. The hospitals, formerly known as St. John’s Regional Health Center and St. John’s Clinic, once employed Dr. Holden, who accused them of billing Medicare for chemotherapy services provided to patients who were referred to them by oncologists. Why Are Charter Bus Crashes So Common in the News Lately?

In August of 2016, five people were killed and many were injured when a charter bus crashed on route 99 near the town of Livingston, CA. in the Mojave Desert. The bus struck a sign support pole at 3:35 AM, which tore the bus down the middle. The bus, owned and operated by Autobuses Coordinados USA Inc., began its route in Mexico and had stopped in Los Angeles prior to the crash. The First Imaging Library for Traumatic Brain Injury Announced

Cohen Veterans Bioscience and the American College of Radiology (ACR) is launching the first imaging library for traumatic brain injury (TBI). Clinical imaging tools will be developed to aid in the diagnosis and management of patients with TBI. In a press release published on the Cohen Veterans Bioscience website, 1.5 million Americans are affected by mild TBI annually. Federal Regulators Shelve Plans to Mandate Anti-Lock Brakes on Motorcycles
